Ask your 1C:Enterprise database in plain words — get figures that match its reports

Munin connects your 1C:Enterprise database to the AI agent you already use. The agent reads data with your access rights and explains where every figure comes from.

  • Read-only
  • Your 1C user rights
  • No VPN, no web publishing

What you can ask

Ask the way you would ask your finance manager

Nine typical questions from business owners on 1C:Enterprise. The agent finds the right reports and data, answers with figures and explains where they come from.

1C:Enterprise is a low-code business platform behind ERP and accounting systems used by over 1.5 million companies.

  • Summary

Sum up last month and compare it with the month before.

Revenue UAH 4,820,000 (+6%), gross profit UAH 1,130,000, margin 23.4%. 2,060 sales, average receipt UAH 2,340. Returns, 3% of revenue, are on a separate line.

  • Cash

How much cash is in our accounts and cash desks now, and where did it go in September?

Today UAH 2,136,400 and USD 18,200, broken down by cash desk and account, with company and currency. In September the largest outflow was stock purchases (62%), then rent and payroll.

  • Sales and margin

Were there any loss-making sales this week?

Yes, 4 sales below cost, minus UAH 23,800 in total. Three of them were made by one sales manager in one product group. Here are the documents.

  • Stock

What has not moved for over 60 days, and what should we reorder?

214 items have had no sales for over 60 days, UAH 1.3 million at cost. Another 12 items will run out in less than a week at the current sales rate.

  • Serial numbers

Find the device whose IMEI ends in 4417: where is it, and who bought it?

Received on 3 March from a supplier for UAH 18,900, sold on 12 April to a customer on a sales invoice. No returns; the full movement history is in the answer.

  • Receivables and payables

Who has owed us money for over 30 days?

Seven customers, UAH 486,000 in total. The largest debt is UAH 142,000, 47 days overdue. The list is sorted by amount, with the date each debt started.

  • Single tax

How much of the single tax limit has each FOP used?

FOP 1 has used 71% of the annual limit, FOP 2 38%, FOP 3 12%. At the current pace FOP 1 will reach the limit in about two months.

A FOP is a Ukrainian sole proprietor registration.

The simplified single tax is a Ukrainian small-business tax regime with an annual income limit.

  • Investigations

Why is the shop's cash desk UAH 3,000 short this evening?

Here are all cash transactions for the day with time and author. At 18:40, UAH 3,000 was paid out as a refund, but there is no customer return document. Check that transaction first.

  • For the parent company

Prepare sales, stock and receivables for the quarter in the group currency for the parent company.

Three tables for the quarter in euros, converted at the 1C:Enterprise rate at the end of each month. The rate and date are shown under each table.

Figures in the answers are illustrative.

Where the figures come from

Figures you can trust

The agent first looks for a standard 1C:Enterprise report, the same one you open. It writes a custom read-only query only when no ready report exists, and says so in the answer.

  1. Standard reports first

The agent runs the report with the same parameters and filters as the 1C:Enterprise report form, so you can check every figure against the report itself.

  2. Period, filters, source

Every answer names the period, the filters and the report or register a figure comes from.

  3. Caveats without asking

Knowledge of accounting traps arrives with the data, so the agent warns you itself about an open month, provisional cost, returns or internal transfers.

  4. Restricted rights are flagged

If your rights hide some rows, the answer says so, and the agent does not present a partial total as the full one.

Under every answer

Source
standard report “Gross profit”
Period
1–30 Sep
Filters
excluding internal transfers

September is not closed yet: cost is provisional, so the margin may change.

Access rights

The agent sees no more than you do

There is no separate technical user with broad rights. The agent works on behalf of the 1C:Enterprise user who connected it, and the platform itself enforces that user's rights.

The whole 1C databaseall data of all usersYour 1C user rightsroles andrecord-level restrictionsAgentread-onlyminus what you hid
  • Access only with a dedicated role. Only users who were given the “Work with AI” role by the person in charge of the database can connect an agent.

  • You set the restriction profile. In the “Connect AI” form you can hide objects and fields such as tax IDs or phone numbers, keep only certain companies or warehouses, and cap the number of rows. Presets such as “No personal data” are ready to use.

  • Your password never leaves the database. The agent signs in through a confirmation inside your 1C:Enterprise. Neither the agent nor Munin ever sees your password.

  • Switched off in one move. You revoke a connection in the form. A user with full rights turns AI off for the whole database with one checkbox. A user blocked in 1C:Enterprise loses agent access.

Connecting

Five steps, then it runs without you

All settings live in your 1C:Enterprise database; there is no separate web account.

  1. Hosting provider or administrator

    Installs the Munin extension

The main configuration stays unchanged. After installation the database registers with Munin by itself.

  2. Person in charge of the database

Grants the “Work with AI” role

To the users who are allowed to work with the agent.

  3. User

    Opens the “Connect AI” form

Sets their own restrictions and copies the database address for the agent.

  4. User

Adds Munin in the agent and confirms in 1C:Enterprise

The agent opens the Munin sign-in page with a code. You enter the code in the 1C:Enterprise form, see who is asking for access and click “Allow”.

  5. Done

    You can close 1C:Enterprise

The agent keeps working without you.

Today

The agent only reads data

There are no write tools. Munin and the extension in the database both reject any request that changes data, so the agent changes nothing even if asked to.

What the agent does

  • Runs standard reports
  • Finds documents, counterparties and products
  • Runs read-only queries when no report fits
  • Explains every figure

What the agent does not do

  • Create or edit documents
  • Post documents
  • Read the database bypassing 1C:Enterprise and its rights

Writing will come later: narrow tools for specific documents, with you confirming every action.

Configurations

Any 1C:Enterprise configuration on the Standard Subsystems Library

The base extension works with any configuration built on the Standard Subsystems Library. Add-ons bring knowledge of a specific configuration: how to calculate margin, cash, stock and debts correctly in it.

FAQ

Questions people usually ask

Will it slow down our accountants and managers?

While no one is asking, the database keeps one quiet connection with no sessions and no background jobs. Every agent call has a time and row limit, and the database runs no more than one heavy request at a time.

Where does our data go?

Data is stored in your 1C:Enterprise database. Munin passes to the agent only what it read for the answer and keeps data no longer than it takes to deliver the answer; the call log holds no data values. What the agent reads is seen by the model of the AI provider you chose, like anything else you write to it. That is why the restriction profile matters: whatever it hides never reaches the model.

Can the agent break anything in the database?

No. There are no write tools, and Munin and the extension in the database both reject any request that changes data. Writing will come later, and you will confirm every action.

Does the agent use a 1C:Enterprise licence?

Yes. While the agent works, the database opens a session in your name, and it takes a licence like a normal sign-in. After a few minutes without requests the session closes by itself.

Why does the first answer sometimes take a few seconds?

After a pause the database first opens your session, which takes a few seconds. Later answers come faster.

What does our database need?

Platform 8.3.27 or later and a configuration on managed forms with the Standard Subsystems Library 3.1 or later. Older configurations on ordinary forms are not supported. Your hosting provider or administrator installs the extension; the main configuration stays unchanged.

Our users have full rights. Is that a problem?

No, they can connect an agent too. In that case the restriction profile holds the agent back, for example “No personal data”. We recommend, but do not require, a separate 1C user with the rights needed for AI work.

Which AI agents can connect?

Claude (web, Desktop, Code), ChatGPT and your own MCP-capable agents. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 only, confirmed in 1C:Enterprise; there are no static access keys.

We have two databases, management and accounting. Will the agent see both?

Yes, if you connect both. Each database is a separate connection in the agent with its own sign-in and rights, and every answer shows which database a figure comes from.

Do we need to open ports or set up a VPN?

No. The database opens an outbound secure connection to Munin itself, so nothing on the 1C:Enterprise server is exposed. Web publishing of the database is not needed either.
